We should add that the Brewers and Rockies are both eligible for potential “game 163” tiebreakers to be played on Monday. Should be exciting!

Triple Crown candidate Christian Yelich is now tied with Charlie Blackmon in NL runs… If Blackmon loses the lead, Harvey beats Greg on HBPs. If Blackmon holds, Jud can still win if Nolan Arenado gains a share of the NL home run lead (he trails by one). Dan also has a stake in the NL HR point with Rhys Hoskins, who needs two to tie. Otherwise, Greg is our 2018 winner.

Greg Glassman leads with two days of regular season baseball left, but several categories are still up for grabs:
Remember that statistics from any potential tiebreaker games DO count!
- Justin Verlander trails Corey Kluber by two in AL IP, with both pitchers on the mound today. A lead for Verlander puts Jim Kushner back in the mix.
- Kluber is one behind Blake Snell in the AL wins category, with Snell also pitching today. Kluber tying Snell can put Jud in the lead.
- Charlie Blackmon’s lead in NL runs is down to two… Harvey Hawkins can move into first place if Blackmon loses the category.
- Seven players are within two home runs of Matt Carpenter in the NL. Nolan Arenado finishing on top would benefit several entrants, and a lead for Rhys Hoskins could put Dan in first place.

Greg Glassman remains atop the 2018 MLB Predictions Pool with one week of regular season baseball to go. If J.D. Martinez can hold his lead in the AL RBI standings, we may have our fourteenth new winner in as many years (as a rookie entrant!).
The NL HR category is still in play, but AL wins may be done after another stellar performance by Blake Snell last night (6.2IP, 3H, 0R, 11K). We’ll check back in later this week...

After 31 straight days of Wells vs Kushner atop our standings, we have a brand new leader! Greg Glassman takes advantage of Chris Sale’s temporary exit from the AL ERA sweepstakes in today’s update. Sale should return to qualification after tomorrow’s start against NL ERA leader Jacob deGrom, and then drop off the radar until next weekend. Only one entrant has ever won the Predictions Pool with less than 30 HBPs (Amy Gill, with 29 in 2011)…

Jim Kushner sits on top thanks to a strong seven-frame start by Justin Verlander, although glory may be brief with Corey Kluber set to regain his AL IP lead against the Royals this afternoon. Kluber’s stake in the AL wins category is also up for grabs with Luis Severino making a late start in Oakland tonight.
We may find ourselves watching a third AL pitching category down the stretch... Chris Sale needs to throw sixteen innings to qualify for the ERA title, and is eligible to be activated from the D.L. on Friday. While it seems likely that Sale will meet the innings quota in time, talk of the lefty making abbreviated starts as an “opener” to slowly get in shape for the playoffs introduces just enough doubt to make things interesting.
